A Quick Look at What We Do

Scallop Market Study: In 2005 the Resource Center commissioned Dr. Kevin Athearn, a natural resource economist at the University of Maine at Machias, to conduct a study of the Cobscook scallop fishery.
License Analyses: Each year the Resource Center compares Cobscook Bay with the rest of the State of Maine in terms of marine resource harvesting license sales.
Phytoplankton Reports: We prepare annual summaries of the phytoplankton activity in Cobscook Bay.
The Eighth Annual Cobscook Fisheries Forum was held February 11, 2006, at the Boat School in Eastport. The above links to the forum's agenda as well as many of the presentations.
In 1997, the Resource Center partnered with the Passamaquoddy Tribe at Pleasant Point to complete a toxics monitoring study in Cobscook/Passamaquoddy Bays. You can read the final report here in PDF format.
