Resource Center receives kitchen funding

The Cobscook Bay Resource Center in Eastport recently received a grant of $10,000 from the Maine Community Foundation. This gift comes from the Pinetree Fund for Washington County at the recommendation of the Washington County fund advisors for installation of food processing and kitchen equipment at the resource center's new kitchen and marketplace facility in downtown Eastport.

This food hub project will provide licensed space for food producers to add value to and market their products.

Contractors have been hard at work this summer installing the commercial kitchen systems. The hood, fire suppression system and associated ventilation are now installed, with sinks and the remaining plumbing fixtures coming soon.
