Drift Study - July 13, 2004

High tide at Gleason Point was 9:00AM. Drifters were released at the same Gleason Cove location, this time on an ebb tide. Drifters 2 and 5 remained in Gleason's Cove for the duration of the trial, documenting a very slow moving eddy. In contrast, Drifters 1, 3, and 4 tracked the main current down Western Passage until they moved past Deer Island Point. Then Drifter 3 took a hard left into Indian River while Drifter 1 continued past Cherry Island and took a hard left into Head Harbor Passage.
